Ubuntu - Repair file system error

Intro

In the case that you have installed Ubuntu Linux on your PC, on the /dev/sdaX partition and it happened that the file system is damaged, it is possible to repair it.

Implemetation

• Boot with the installation CD of Ubuntu: select test Ubuntu
• Use command line:

  • $ sudo fsck.ext3 -f /dev/sdaX

• Any error found should be repaired.

Note that

• You can ask the system to check the file system at next reboot by typing:

  • sudo touch /forcefsck
